The Ram 1500 4th Gen Widebody Kit was developed after overwhelming demand from the 4th Gen community. Following the success of our Ram 5th Gen platform, owners of the 2009–2018 Ram 1500 wanted a clean, aggressive, and affordable widebody solution built specifically for their trucks.
We listened.
With prior experience developing widebody kits for both Ram and F-150 platforms, our goal was simple: design a widebody kit that stood apart from the overly rounded options currently available on the market — while keeping pricing accessible.
Why We Chose Crowdfunding
The interest in the Ram 1500 4th Gen widebody kit was immediate. To validate production demand and reward early supporters, we launched the project through a crowdfunding-style preorder campaign.
We revealed the design through detailed 3D renders and opened preorders at a significant discount compared to the future retail price. The response exceeded expectations. We secured enough preorders to move forward confidently into production.
The first batch arrived.
All customers were waiting. We didn’t have a local truck available for a test fit — and up until that point, we had maintained a perfect track record. Our kits always fit. No mistakes. No surprises.
So we shipped every preorder.
The Problem We Didn’t Expect
Within a week, we started receiving messages.
There was a strange gap between the front bumper element and the front fender.
We immediately launched a full investigation. The CAD files were correct. The design was correct. But during production, the wrong file had been used — a human error that resulted in incorrect front fenders being manufactured.
It was a major mistake.
And we owned it.
Fixing It — No Matter the Cost
We reproduced the correct front fenders immediately.
We shipped replacement sets via air freight to clients worldwide.
We covered 100% of the costs.
No excuses. No delays.
Financially, this project turned from a huge crowdfunding success into a loss that far exceeded our profit. The correction cost more than we made.
But the most important thing?
Not a single customer was left with an imperfect kit.
Everyone received parts that fit exactly as they should.
The Lesson

This project reminded us that growth comes with responsibility. Mistakes can happen — but how you respond defines your brand.
