We're proud to introduce our newest project: the Clinched Mustang S650 widebody kit, built for the 2024+ Ford Mustang GT. This is the first widebody coupe we have developed after taking a long pause to reevaluate our direction and explore new design approaches for different markets. It marks a new chapter in our design philosophy, and we chose the Mustang platform to introduce this new generation of Clinched widebody kits.

You may not notice it right away, but every product we design is created completely from scratch. We intentionally avoid repeating signature design cues that would make every kit instantly recognizable as a Clinched product. Every vehicle, every part, and every platform deserves its own unique approach, purpose, and design language — and that philosophy is exactly why our new S650 Mustang widebody kit shares very little with its predecessor.

Why This Widebody Kit Is a Clean-Sheet Design

Our S550 Mustang widebody kit became a huge success for us. Watching orders come in from around the world, and seeing our kits show up in nearly every country where the Mustang was imported, has been incredibly rewarding. But the story of the S650 widebody kit started much earlier — back in February 2024.

From the beginning, we knew we had to open a new chapter for the Mustang platform. We moved quickly, created the first sketches, and began development almost immediately, with a clear vision and a short timeline to execute it.

Once we realized there was no realistic way to finish the project in time for SEMA, we stepped back, released the pressure, and decided the project deserved a complete rethink instead of a rushed release. The first version of the kit carried many design elements inspired by our S550 widebody — we initially wanted a visual connection between generations. But after revisiting the project, we decided to push further and give the S650 its own identity entirely. That decision led directly to the final design you see today.

Mustang S650 Widebody Kit: Dimensions and Fitment

This Mustang GT widebody kit features a revised overall width. While it is slightly narrower than the previous generation, it still delivers an aggressive stance and unmistakable widebody appearance.

This change was made intentionally. The Mustang S650 fender flares are engineered to accommodate wide wheels and tires setup while placing less stress on the suspension. By slightly reducing the overall width at both the front and rear, we achieved a more balanced combination of performance, drivability, and aesthetics.

Another advantage of the revised dimensions is the expanded range of compatible wheel options. Unlike the previous generation, which required extreme negative offsets and was largely limited to custom 2-piece and 3-piece wheels, the new setup also supports custom monoblock wheels. This gives owners access to a much wider selection of manufacturers and designs while benefiting from shorter lead times and more competitive pricing than comparable multi-piece wheels. It also opens up a broader range of tire options, making it easier to find the right tire for both street and track applications.

This is not simply the next version of our S550 kit. This is a completely new approach to the 2024+ Mustang widebody kit platform.

The greatest shift is in our entirely new design philosophy behind widebody kit development. This Mustang widebody kit wasn't created simply to look impressive when aired out or slammed to the ground for extreme fitment. It was designed to perform just as well visually at a practical, drivable ride height.

Our goal was to achieve the same balance found in OEM performance vehicles, where the proportions, wheel fitment, and body lines look intentional in real driving conditions—not just when the car is parked. After all, the true purpose of any performance car is to be driven, and we believe it should look its best while it's on the road, not only when it's sitting still.

New Front Lip and Splitter Design

The new kit features a completely different front lip — nothing we've done before. We didn't just add a splitter to it; we also split it into three pieces, which will make it significantly easier to ship in the event of a replacement.

The kit also includes removable rear air ducts, which can be functional or aesthetic, along with a completely reworked connection between the side skirts and fenders. We intentionally left the rear end without a spoiler, as we believe there should always be room to add your own personal touch and finish your project vehicle in your own way.

First Build: Mustang S650 GT Convertible

This will be our first time postponing sales of a new kit so we can complete the first build ourselves. We've partnered with Cross Road Ford Indian Trail and are awaiting delivery of a new Mustang GT Convertible with a manual transmission. The Mustang is in production, the wheels are on the way, and we're preparing to film the entire installation process and showcase this Mustang S650 widebody build at Mustang Week, held in our home city of Charlotte, at the end of August 2026. This first build will help us test the kit and prepare all the information you might need during installation, so you can perform it yourself in your garage.
